For those that are interested, the newsletter periodically appears in my e-mail as if by magic. I know it arrives only after a lot of work has gone into it’s creation. Not only does the material have to be obtained and organized, the editor often has to hound people for their input or their words of wisdom.

I notice that nobody claims responsibility for the work of art so I must thank the newsletter fairies for their good works. Please keep up the good work.

I recently upgraded my Lightroom to version 4. I decided It would also be a good time to organize my pictures so they will be easier to work with. After I finished that task, I found this document in the pictures files. That doesn’t work so I was going to delete it.

I then checked the content first and found a very good explanation of Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO and how they interact. It was so good I thought it might make a good reference for our members. I unfortunately did not write it so I can’t copy it here.

I can give you a link to the original material and here it is: Cambridge in Colour.

I then explored the site and found it packed with valuable information under the “Tutorials” tab.

Want to know the lighting conditions? Check out tools: Check out the sunrise, sunset calculator on the tools page.

An excellent site and well worth checking out.

I found this picture of the Yosemite River and determined that printing doesn’t really work for it. You need a large screen computer and an internet browser to really appreciate it.

The picture size is measures in gigabytes and the cameras many of us use may get 15 or 25 megabytes maximum. This picture is a 360′ panorama with so much detail you can zoom in to incredible depths.

Gigapixel pictures are another type of extreme photography. Interesting to look at and if you are interested in how it is done check out Paris 26 Gigapixels as lived by its photographer Arnaud Frich

I also found one of London, England.

Do we have any planned for the club? I don’t think so, yet..
