• •         In photography there is always something to learn and to share. Members will break into small groups to explore their cameras.
• •         (Canon, Nikon and other cameras).
• •         ** Remember to bring your cameras, manual & questions.

• •         Join us for a walk in the downtown core area for photography and fun. You will not believe what photo opportunities are available for you.

• •         Successful photographs are not accidents. There is a creative process used in designing a photograph. The philosophical, emotional and physical processes work together to create and “take” the great photograph. Learn a few simple techniques and improve your photography.

Contest # 1   “It’s Your Choice” DEADLINE

• •         Speaker: James Cowie, from Stan C. Reade Photography, London
• •         Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop have become part of the photographer’s digital workflow. James will demonstrate how easy the programs are to operate, show us techniques that are available in Photoshop and explain how you can work between the two programs.

Greenwich Massey, Brantford.

A short Slide Show by John Novak

• •         The Greenwich-Mohawk photography event was a joint project between Brantford Arts Block & City of Brantford’s Brownfield Advisory Committee. 70 photographers took part to photograph the abandoned facilities and former home of the Massey-Harris & Massey-Ferguson Plants.

• •         Two of Paul’s great passions in life are travel and photography. He documents his own personal experiences and captures scenes and events to share with others the beauty and diversity of the world he’s seen.

• •         Note the location!

• •         Is a ‘photographer’s eye’ a gift or a developed talent?
• •         Often it is about being open to the world and seeing it with a Taoist mind.
• •         Come and explore this interesting theory.

Contest #2 “Shores” DEADLINE

Dave Chidley: an entertaining London Photo journalist will demonstrate how to get the best results from your hot shoe flash unit.

•         Another great night in store as we view the contest submissions and hear the judges critiques.  Always a great opportunity to learn.

•         Travel with our members as they present their slideshows from places close to home and far away.

Photo Art Contest DEADLINE

• •         After concentrating on nature and landscape photography Paul developed into a wildlife photographer focusing especially on birds.
• •         His work is part of the National Geographic photo bank.
• •         He does custom printing teaches basic photography, builds web sites & sells camera’s.

Colour Management, Monitor Calibration and Printer Profiling with Bob Steer

• •         Many of us have tried home printing with less than satisfactory results.
• •         Sometimes we tune our photographs at home and take them to be printed and the colours don’t match.
• •         Bob will give us some information on how to correct that problem.

• •                  Photographic Composition is more then deciding how to frame the image in your viewfinder. It starts with deciding what you want to show and how you want it too look. Now decide which lens or lenses to use and how to use them. Review the impact on composition that lens choice can have.  Explore a selection of lenses from ultra-wide to telephoto and how they can be used to create that spectacular composition you are looking for.

Contest # 3 “A Burst of Colour” DEADLINE

• •                  Have you ever looked at a picture and thought about how “YOU” could change it?
• •                   Now is your chance to make those changes and show the rest of us what you came up with.

Result night

• •         Come out and enjoy the critiques for the last contest of our club year.

• •         Do you have two photos to submit to one of our contests? Show us the one you didn’t submit.

• •         Did you get a critique for your photo and wonder what if?  Now if you can, make changes as per the critique and let us see your updated image. Were the judges correct?  Let us be the judge!

• •         Learn the techniques and interesting aspects of taking sport pictures from one of the best.
